The A944 road is an A road in the Scottish Council Areas Aberdeenshire and Aberdeen.

Course

The road branches off at a roundabout in the center of Aberdeen on the A96. It leads in a westerly direction, and at first it crosses the inner ring road ( A978 ) and the A90 ( Edinburgh Fraserburgh ), which is performed in a wide arc through the outskirts. The A944 exits the Council Area Aberdeen and Westhill reached the first town in Aberdeenshire. Passing the Loch of Skene it runs in west-north -westerly direction through the sparsely populated hinterland Aberdeenshire's and reached after 41 km and the nearest large town of Alford.

Beyond Alford the road crosses the Don and run a few miles along its northern shore. Around twelve kilometers beyond Alford joins the A944 into the A97 ( Banff Dinnet ) and is run over a distance of 15 km along with this. In this section it goes through the village Kildrummy, Kildrummy Castle happened and crosses the Water of rivers Buchat, Don and the Deskry Water. The last few miles, the A944 follows the course of the Don and crossed this one more time. It ends after 81.8 km at its junction with the A939 ( Ballater - Nairn ) near the hamlet Corgarff.
