The four-lane A972 road is an A road in Scotland. It is part of the historic Kingsway, which forms the outer ring road of Dundee today, and is consistently ranked under this name.

Course

From the West leads the A90 ( Edinburgh Fraserburgh ) along the north shore of the Firth of Tay. In Dundee it uses the Kingsway, which was built in the 1930s as a bypass of Dundee. Northeast of downtown bends from the A90 north towards Forfar. Beginning at this roundabout, the A972 uses the Kingsway in a southeasterly direction. A few meters after the start of the A929 branches off towards the city center. After 500 m meters crossing at a roundabout the Pitkerro Road. An additional 1.3 km to the southeast running, the A972 ends at a roundabout at the end of the Kingsway. There, the street ends in the next from the center of Dundee A92 ( Dunfermline Stonehaven ), which further leads to the east. Thus, the A972 includes the outer ring road A90 between Dundee and A92.
