Äänekoski

Äänekoski [ æ ː nɛkkɔski ] is a Finnish town with 20,282 inhabitants (as of 31 December 2012). It is located 40 km north of Jyväskylä in Central Finland landscape.

The community Äänekoski was founded in 1911. This parish was divided in 1932 in the market town Äänekoski and Suolahti and the rural community Äänekoski. The rural municipality was incorporated in 1969 again Äänekoski, 1973, the market town to town was charged. In 1993, the incorporation of gas Kong Inca, 2007 Äänekoski united with the neighboring communities Suolahti and Sumiainen.
