Aarbergen

Aarbergen is a Untertaunus community in the Rheingau -Taunus-Kreis in the Regierungsbezirk of Darmstadt in Hesse. The seat of the municipality is located in the district of chain Bach.

Geographical location

Aarbergen located north of the town of Bad Schwalbach and south of Limburg an der Lahn in western Hintertaunus which forms emanating from the Northern Slope of the Taunus Taunus main ridge.

The area of ​​the municipality is dominated scenically by the average Aartal with its side valleys that have greatly zertalt the pronounced hull and trough surfaces of the Taunus in the Quaternary. The Aubach as the largest tributary of the Aar flows in the municipality, as well as the bed creek. History

At the municipal reform in Hesse, the previously independent municipalities Daisbach, Hausen über Aar closed, chain Bach, Michel Bach, Panrod and Rückershausen voluntarily on 31 December 1970 on the new community Aarbergen together. For each district a district with local town council and mayor was set up by the main statute.

Chain Bach

  • Ev. Church - 1752 The Baroque organ ( " Scholer organ " ) of 1763 is a historical monument, last complete renovation 1969/1970.

Michel Bach

  • Fortified church in the cemetery - 11th century or earlier (High Medieval choir tower, vaulted ceiling, octagonal spire, round chancel arch ). 1908 profaned because of new church building. Since 1958, the church is used as probably the oldest building Aarbergens as a mourning hall.

Michel Bach, Bach chain, Hausen über Aar, Rückershausen

  • By the municipality in 1894 and opened a listed Aartalbahn that is Hesse's longest architectural monument and is an outstanding example of a complex designed German branch line runs.
