Aaron Miller

Aaron M. Miller ( born August 11, 1971 in Buffalo, New York ) is a retired American professional ice hockey player who in his playing days in 1989 to 2008 among others for the Quebec Nordiques, Colorado Avalanche, Los Angeles Kings and Vancouver Canucks the National Hockey League has played.

Career

Aaron Miller began his career as a hockey player in the team of the University of Vermont, where he was active from 1989 to 1993. Previously, the defender had already been selected as a junior player in the NHL Entry Draft in 1989 in the fifth round as a total of 88 players from the New York Rangers. For the Rangers, he never played, however, as these charges him on 17 January 1991 along with a fifth- round option for the NHL Entry Draft in 1991 in exchange for Joe Cirella to the Quebec Nordiques. For the French-Canadians of Miller gave in the 1993/94 season his debut in the National Hockey League. In that season and the following year, however, he mainly played for Quebec's farm team in the American Hockey League, the Cornwall Aces.

After the relocation of the Quebec Nordiques Miller first played in the season 1995/96 mainly for Cornwall in the AHL. In 1996, he was exclusively for the new franchise of the Colorado Avalanche in the NHL on the ice. In February 2001, Miller was released in a swap to the Los Angeles Kings, while the Avalanche at the end of the 2000 /01 won the Stanley Cup. For the Kings Miller ran a total of six years in the NHL on before in their league rivals Vancouver Canucks he ended his career after the 2007/ 08 season.

Internationally

For the U.S., Miller participated in the U-20 World Youth Championship in 1991, as well as the World Championships in 2004 and 2005 in part. In addition, he was in the squad of the U.S. at the World Cup of Hockey in 2004, and at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City and Torino 2006.
