Aars

Aars or Års is a Danish town with 8071 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2013 ) in the western Himmerlands. The village has been the municipal reform in 2007 part of the Vesthimmerlands commune in the North Jutland. Previously, she was the capital of Aars Kommune in the Official North Jutland.
Aars is just 25 km south of Nibe, 25 km north-east of Hvalpsund, 27 km southeast of Løgstør and about 27 km northwest of Hobro.
History
The place Aars originated in the 13th century around the church, which was built 1200-1250 in granite and the rune stone houses DR131, which bears the inscription: " Asher continued this stone after Valtóki, his Lord preached the stone that he. will be here long; Valtókis to grave ". With the establishment of the station in 1900, the town grew in importance, so the church had to be enlarged 1921-1922.
