Aasif Mandvi
Aasif Mandvi ( born March 5, 1966 in Mumbai ) is an American actor Indian- British origin.
Mandvi was born to Muslim parents in Mumbai. When he was one year old he moved with his family to Bradford in England, where he then grew up to the age of 16. He then moved with his parents to Florida. There he completed high school and studied at the University of South Florida.
Before Mandvi moved to New York, he worked as an entertainer in Disney's Hollywood Studios theme park at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.
In New York, he began his career with supporting roles in independent films as well as in plays in Off- Broadway productions. In 1998, he was there with his one-man show Sakina 's Restaurant a first success. For based on his experiences as an immigrant show, he was awarded an Obie Award.
He was known primarily for his role in the satirical news program The Daily Show. After a few sporadic appearances in August 2006, he belongs in March 2007 at the firm 'correspondents' team. He was also a guest star in numerous television series.
He is for smaller performances in films such as Spider- Man 2 (2004), Music and Lyrics - A Song for You ( 2007) or The Proposal (2009) is known. In The Last Airbender (2010) he plays the role of Admiral Zhao.
