Abane Ramdane

Abane Ramdane; Kabyle: Remḍan Ɛebban (* 1920 in Kabylia, eastern Algeria, † 1957 in Morocco) was an activist of Algerian nationalism and a member of the Front de Libération Nationale. Ramdane was Berber and was born in Kabylia. He was sentenced in 1950 due to actuation of nationalist organizations to prison. After his release, he joined the FLN in 1955.

Ramdane was as a political leader more and more marginalized by the three military leaders Crimea Belkassem, Ben Tobbal and Boussouf he turned against the monopolization of power in their hands. He was murdered in 1957 in Morocco on command Boussoufs. The media of the FLN reported a never took place return to Algeria and his death in battle.
