Abaya
The abaya (Arabic عباية, DMG ʿ abaya, Abaya also ) or Aba'a ( عباءة, DMG ʿ Abā ʾ a, also Aba ) is a traditional Islamic garment. It is a mostly black coat -like outer garment made from sheep 's wool and camel hair from the neck down to the feet. The material and the pattern can be signs of social status and affiliation to a specific tribe.
In Saudi Arabia, an abaya is next to a headscarf for women in public as minimum standard of veiling mandatory.
