ABBA Live is the only official live album of the pop group ABBA. It was released on August 18, 1986, four years after the split of the band in late 1982. Publication of the live album led to speculation about a possible reunion of the pop group the world.

Formation

Four years after the release of ABBA to Polar Music decided to bring a live album on the market. However, neither ABBA themselves nor the public had an interest in this recordings. ABBA Live was one of the few flops in ABBA's discography, because the sales were contrary to other experience miserable.

Eight of the pieces were recorded in November 1979 during a series of six ABBA concerts at London's Wembley Arena, two were from the Tour in 1977 by Australia and four from the TV show Dick Cavett Meets Abba 1981. The album was by Polydor 1992 CD and again released as a remastered CD in 1997 and is currently no longer available.

Reviews

Also from music critics, the album was not well received; the magazine audio, reviewed in the March 2004 ABBA hits with a touch of welding provides "live" and awarded only 2 of 5 Sternen.Der Billboard hand, sees the live recording as Often underrated ( often underestimated ) and seemingly superfluous [ ... ] at the various hit compilations on CD, but also notes that the title Does Your Mother Know the studio playback ashamed and the vocals are never less than stunning.

All the pieces were composed by Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson. In Dancing Queen, Fernando, Waterloo, and The Name of the Game Stig Anderson was also involved as a copywriter.
