Abbán

Abban of Magheranoidhe (also: Ewin, hillside, Evin, from New Ross, * 570, † March 16 620) is a Catholic saint. His feast day is March 16.

He was the son of Cormac, King of Leinster. In today's County Wexford Abban founded several churches. His main monastery was in Magheranoidhe, which was later renamed and is now called Abbanstown Adamstown. In addition to the churches he founded the convent in New Ross, was a well-known school of scholasticism later.
