Abbécourt

Abbécourt is a commune with 536 inhabitants ( 1 January 2011) in the department of Aisne in the Picardie region.

Geography

The community Abbécourt lies on the right bank of the Oise and the parallel Lateral Canal à l' Oise, four kilometers south-west of Chauny and about 30 kilometers south of Saint- Quentin. At the height of the Oise -Aisne Abbécourt channel branches off to the south.

Neighboring communities of Abbécourt are Vesles -et -Caumont in the north, Ognes in the northeast, Chauny in the east, in the southeast Bichancourt, Manicamp in the south, Quierzy the southwest, Marest - Dampcourt in the west and Neuflieux in the northwest.

Economy and infrastructure

In addition to farms there are in Abbécourt small metalworking enterprises as well as a carpenter. Right through Abbécourt leads the railway line from Creil after Jeumont as part of the old railway line from Paris to Brussels. To the north of the village center, the highway runs from Saint -Quentin to Compiègne.
