Abbie Cornish

Abbie Cornish ( born August 7, 1982 in Lochinvar, New South Wales) is an Australian actress.

Life

After successful roles in Australian television series Cornish got the 1999 Australian Film Institute Award for her role as Simone Summers in the ABC series Wildside. Your cinema debut was in 2000 in the movie Monkey's Mask by Samantha Lang.

With her critically acclaimed acting performance in Cate Shortland (director and writer) turned film Somersault - Like perfume in the air a wider audience in Cornish was attentive and outside of Australia. In Somersault first played a major role. The Australian Film Institute (AFI ) honored the film with 13 " Australian film Oscars", inter alia, in the major categories Best Director, Best Actress, Best Actor and Best Screenplay. The Institute Critics Circle of Australia ( FCCA ) gave the film a number of awards.

Somersault celebrated in May 2004 at the Cannes Film Festival in the Un Certain Regard premiere. Your second starred Cornish alongside Heath Ledger in a created and directed by Neil Armfield drug drama called Candy. The film was shown at the Berlinale 2006 competition. Besides Russell Crowe as Max Skinner Cornish starred in Ridley Scott's summer comedy A Good Year Max's cousin Christie.

Cornish was associated with the American actor Ryan Phillippe since the filming of Stop Loss. The end of February, 2010, the couple announced its separation.
