Abbotsdale is a South African town with 3762 inhabitants ( as of 2011) in the Swartland Municipality, district, West Coast, Western Cape Province. It is located 55 km north of Cape Town and 5 miles south-west of Malmesbury to 200 meters on the banks of Diepriver.

This small, rural settlement was built on the farm Olyphantsfontein, which was bought in 1870 by Bishop Greyson for the establishment of a mission station. The town owes its name to Bishop Abbot, who was Bishop of Cape Town in 1877.
