Abd al-Ghani al-Nabulsi

Abd al- Ghani an- Nabulusi (Arabic عبد الغني النابلسي, DMG ʿ Abd al - Gani on - Nābulusī; * 1641, † 1731) was an Arabic Sufi and writer from Damascus. He is considered a key figure in the Islamic Enlightenment. As a contemporary of many great thinkers, scientists, poets and philosophers of the European Enlightenment is his life and work at the roots of modernity in the Arab world.

His journey works serve as important sources for our knowledge of the Arab countries of the time, including his trip to the holy cities of Mecca and Medina and the journey through Lebanon. Orientalists such as Alfred von Kremer and Johannes Gildemeister (1908 ) had begun their evaluation.

In recent times, has made deserves particular Samer Akkach ( University of Adelaide ) to the study of the life and work Nabulusis.
