Abdel Halim Hafez

Abdel Halim Hafez (Arabic: عبد الحليم حافظ, DMG ʿ Abd al - Halim Hafiz ), actually Abdel Halim Isma'il Schabana ( born June 21, 1929 in Al- Helwat, Ash- Sharqiyah ( governorate ), Egypt, † March 30 1977 in London, England ), was from the 1950s to the 1970s, one of the most popular Egyptian singer and actor, both in Egypt and throughout the Arab world.

Life and career

Between 1955 and 1969 he played in 15 Egyptian films the male lead. In Lahn el wafaa he took over in 1955 alongside Ibrahim Emara to co-direct. In the same year he was seen in Helmy Halim el Musical Ayyamine helwa on the side of Omar Sharif. The genre of romantic musicals was also the dominant type of film in his career as a singer and actor.
