Abdel Moneim Aboul Fotouh

Abdel Moneim Abul Abdel Hady Fotuh (Arabic عبد المنعم أبو الفتوح عبد الهادي, DMG ʿ Abd al - Mun ʿ Abū al - Futuh in ʿ Abd al - Hādī; * October 15, 1951 ) is an Egyptian politician.

He is a former member of the Muslim Brotherhood currently Secretary General of the Union of Arab physician and chairman of his party Strong Egypt. Fotuh was a candidate for the presidential elections in Egypt in 2012.

Early life

Abul Fotuh studied at Cairo University Medicine and Law. He graduated in 1976 with honors in medicine and law with a Bachelor. At Helwan University, he received his Master degree in hospital management. During his time at the University of Abul Fotuh 1973 was president of the student body in Qasr Aini and President of the student body in Cairo in 1975. Later he became Secretary General of the Media Committee of all Egyptian universities.

Abul Fotuh was a prominent student leader in the 1970s and advocated that it was smaller Islamic organizations facilitated to join the Brotherhood.
