Abdelhadi Boutaleb

Abdelhadi Boutaleb ( born December 23, 1923 in Fez, † December 16, 2009 in Rabat ) was a Moroccan diplomat and politician.

Biography

After school he began studying at the oldest university in the world, the University of Al- Qarawiyyin which he graduated in 1943 ( Lauréat ). After graduation, he was on 10 December 1943, the founders of the Independence Party ( Istiqlal ), the oldest and most important party of Morocco. As their representative, he took in 1951 as a member of the Delegation Participate in the United Nations Conference in the Palais de Chaillot.

In 1955 he was head of the delegation at the negotiations for the sovereignty of Morocco and return of King Mohammed V in Aix -les- Bains. After independence in 1955 he became the first appointed Minister of Labour and Social Affairs but resigned the following year back out of the government. In 1959, he was next to Mehdi Ben Barka founder of the Union Nationale des Forces Populaires ( UNFP ), which did not appear in the policy objectives of the Istiqlal radical enough.

After the accession of King Hassan II In 1961 he was first appointed ambassador in Damascus and was then in the following years during which reign Minister for Information, Youth and Sports, Minister of the Sahara and Mauritania, Delegate Minister to the Prime Minister, Government Spokesman, Minister for parliamentary Affairs, Minister of Justice, Minister of National Education, information Minister again, and finally Minister of State at the Foreign Ministry. Boutaleb became one of the king's closest advisors.

In 1970 he was elected President of the Parliament. Subsequently, he was from 1974 to 1976 Ambassador to the U.S. and was certified as such at the same time in Mexico.

After 1982 he became President of the International Islamic Organization for Education, Science and Cultural Organization (ISESCO ), elected, he was also a member of the Royal Academies of Jordan and Morocco. In addition, he was in November 1983, Vice President of the International Commission for the Protection of the Islamic fatherland of the Organization of the Islamic Conference ( OCI).

Boutaleb was also a professor of constitutional law and political science at the Mohammed V University in Rabat Hassan II Ain Chok and the University in Casablanca.

He was one of the Senior Fellows of the Royal Aal al - Bayt Institute for Islamic Thought ( Royal Aal al - Bayt Institute for Islamic Thought ), Jordan.

Awards

Abdelhadi Boutaleb has won several awards and received including the Grand Order of Merit of the Kingdom of Morocco, the price of Culture and Education of Jordan as well as the award for culture and education of ISESCO. He was honored by King Abdullah II with the Independence Medal, the highest civilian award of Jordan in 2002. In 2006 he received King Mohammed VI. the Grand Cross of the Order " Wissam Al Arch ".
