Abdollah Movahed

Abdollah Movahed (Persian عبدالله موحد, born March 10, 1940 in Babolsar, Māzandarān ) is a former Iranian wrestler in free style. He was a participant at the Summer Olympics in Tokyo in 1964 and 1968 in Mexico City.

Career

Abdollah Movahed comes from the Iranian province Māzandarān. For rings he came into the school and proved to be extremely talented for the freestyle. He was especially technically absolute top class. When he succeeded, even to become physically stronger, he was almost unbeatable. At the World Cup in 1963 and the Olympic Games in 1964, he could not even win, but from 1965 to 1970, he worked for five world championships in succession and the 1968 Olympic Games successfully. He also won at the Asian Games 1966 in the weight class up to 70 kg, and in 1970 in the weight category up to 68kg the title.

Klaus rust, German silver medalist of 1964, he was defeated at the World Championships in 1963, 1969 and 1971 and the Olympics in 1968. Enju Also Waltschew Dimow from Bulgaria could never win against Movahed. From 1965 to 1970 Movahed remained in all competitions where he started winning and unbeaten.

After the end of his career he lived temporarily in the United States. For his contributions to the sport wrestler he was inducted into the FILA International Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2004.
