Abductor digiti minimi muscle of foot

The abductor digiti minimi (Latin for " Kleinzehenabzieher ") is a skeletal muscle of the foot. It rises at the heel bone bump ( lateral process of the calcaneus tuberis, partly processus medialis tuberis calcaneus ) and the plantar fascia ( plantar fascia ) and is applied to the base of the proximal phalanx of the little toe and the tuberosity of metatarsal V.

The muscle spreads her little toe outwards (abduction ) and bends it in the metacarpophalangeal joint.
