Abdulhashim Mutalov

Abdulxashim Mutalovich Mutalov (* 1947 in Telyau at Ohangaron, Tashkent Oblast, Uzbek SSR, Soviet Union ) is an Uzbek politician.

Career

Abdulxashim Mutalov started his working life in 1965 in a large bakery in Tashkent. After military service, he continued his activity in various bakeries continued in senior management. In 1976 he completed a course of study from the Institute of Food Economics. From 1979 to 1986 he was director of a large bakery in his Heimatrajon Ohangaron.

Political activity

Mutalovs political career began abruptly in 1986 when he was appointed Deputy Minister of baked goods economy of the Uzbek SSR. Within a year he moved to the then minister. In 1991 he was appointed Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Uzbek SSR, and on 13 January 1992, after the collapse of the Soviet Union, Prime Minister of the newly independent Republic of Uzbekistan. 1995 Mutalov was replaced by Otkir Sultonov.

Mutalov is said, he owed his rise to the head of government less to his abilities or their own political line rather than his good relations with President Islom Karimov and his ultimate loyalty towards this.
