Abdullah Al-Rakib

Abdullah Al- Rakib ( born December 2, 1980 in Narayanganj ) is a chess grandmaster from Bangladesh.

With an Elo rating of 2514 (January 2011 ), he is in the world ranking at position 772 and nationally to position 2 Since 1998 he is an International Master and since 2007 as the fourth player after Niaz Murshed, Ziaur Rahman and Reefat Bin- Sattar a grandmaster from Bangladesh. His grandmaster norms he scored for the Asia Cup in Calcutta (2001 ), with a Grandmaster tournament in Dhaka ( 2004) and at the national championship, which he won in 2007. In January 2009, he reached his highest rating with 2535th In August 2009 he played his last time being rated game at a tournament in Dhaka.

He has played in seven Chess Olympiads for Bangladesh and completed while a total of 71 games. Participation in 2008 proved to be the most successful for him as he undefeated from 9 games got 7 points, reaching a tournament performance of 2640.
