Abdullah Ercan

Abdullah Ercan ( born December 8, 1971 in Istanbul) is a Turkish football coach and former player. He is currently working as a Turkish U-21 national team coach.

Active career

Abdullah Ercan began his career at Yeniçarşım, an amateur club based in Istanbul. 1990 obliged him Trabzonspor. With Trabzonspor he spent much of his career. Trabzonspor sold at that time many of their national team. Abdullah was in Trabzon, but the championship was denied him there. Because failure Abdullah moved in 1999 to Fenerbahce. His first competitive match for Fenerbahce graduated Abdullah on August 8, 1999, compared Vanspor in the Süper Lig The last game for the Blue - Yellow was on 15 March 2003 against Elazığspor. He then moved to arch-rivals Galatasaray. At Galatasaray, he was a substitute. After just one season Ercan played for Istanbulspor. There, he finished his career.

His biggest success Abdullah Ercan in the Football World Cup 2002. He was with the Turkish national football team of third parties, behind Brazil and Germany.

Coaching career

Ercan coached from 2008 to 2011, the Turkish U- 17 team. From 30 September 2011 to 26 January 2012, he worked for Gaziantepspor as a coach.

On August 6, 2013 Ercan was introduced as the new head coach of the Turkish U-21 national team.
