Abdus Samad Azad

Abdus Samad Azad ( born January 15, 1926 at village Burakhali, Sunamganj District, British India, † April 27, 2005 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India) was a Pakistani and Bangladeshi politicians.

Samad Azad studied after 1948, law and history at the University of Dhaka. His political career began in 1940 when he joined the Muslim Students Federation. Since 1954 he was regularly represented in parliaments, repeatedly, he was also arrested.

During the Revolutionary War in 1971 Samad Azad served as ambassador of Bangladesh and tried the world public to win their independence. He became the first foreign minister of independent Bangladesh, and later Minister of Agriculture. He was one of the leaders of the Awami League, a major party in Bangladesh for a long time.
