Abeba Aregawi

Ababa Aregawi Gebretsadik ( born July 5, 1990 in Adigrat, Tigray region, Ethiopia ) is a Swedish middle distance runner. She has specialized in the 1500m distance and keeps here a personal best of 3:56,54 min.

Sports career (summary)

Ababa began her career as a 800 -meter runner and won in this discipline in 2009 the Ethiopian national title in front of the triple champion Mestawet Tadesse.

In 2010 she moved to the 1500 -meter distance. Their biggest success on this distance, and in her career was the victory at the World Athletics Championships 2013 in Moscow. 2014, it was about 1500 meters also not be beaten at the World Indoor Championships in Sopot.
