Abegondo
Abegondo is a Spanish municipality in the Autonomous Community of Galicia. Abegondo is also a city, a Parroquia and the administrative seat of the homonymous municipality. The 5664 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013), covers an area of 83.81 km2, 23 km from the provincial capital of A Coruña.
Location
History
From the time of the Celtic settlement and the Roman occupation, there are numerous archaeological finds in ruins of ancient cities and military fortifications. 1835, the community was established in he present size.
Policy
Arts and Culture
Numerous churches, chapels and manors can be found in many places of the municipality. These " Cruceiros bonitos ," a crucifixion scene next to the parish church. This ensemble is unique in Galicia and probably dates from artists from the region of Brittany.
