Abel Laudonio

Abel Laudonio ( born August 30, 1938 in Buenos Aires, Argentina ) is an Argentine former lightweight boxer.

Amateur

Laudonio already took at the 1956 Olympic Games in Melbourne in part, left there but in the second round of the flyweight class against the British from Terrence Spinks, who then won the gold medal. In 1959, he finished in the Pan American Games in Chicago in first place in the lightweight.

At the Olympic Games in Rome in 1960, his second at the Olympics, is Laudonio the bronze medal in the lightweight, he lost in the semifinals where the Italians Sandro Lopopolo just on points.

Professional

His professional career began in 1961 with 36 fights without defeat, interrupted by only a draw. The first nineteen fights were all decided by knockout.

After a few more battles Laudonio was in November 1964 through a points victory over Nicolino Locche Argentine lightweight champion. Against the same opponent Laudonio lost nearly half a year later, the battle for the South American championship at lightweight. Another six months later, he ended his career after only four years as a pro.
