Abelova (Slovak 1927-1948 " Abelova " - until 1927 " Jabelová "; Hungarian Ábelfalva - to 1907 Abelova and older Abellehota, latin Abel ) is a municipality in Okres Lučenec in Slovakia, with 247 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2011).

Geography

Abelova located in Ostrôžky Mountains, which meets at the place with the highlands Krupinská planina. It is 18 km from Detva and 21 km from Lučenec away.

In addition to the main town also includes the formerly independent places Madačka (1973 amalgamated ) and Nedeliste (1990 incorporated ) to the community.

History

The first written mention was made in 1275 as Abelfeuld.
