The company was founded in 1983 in a management buy-out. Through several acquisitions Aberdeen Asset Management has grown rapidly in recent years. So Aberdeen Asset Management in 2008 acquired by Dresdner Bank DEGI German company for real estate funds. Today, more than 190 billion GBP are managed. Around 90 % of which comes from institutional investors.
