Aberdeen, Carolina and Western Railway

The Aberdeen, Carolina and Western Railway ( AAR reporting mark: ACWR ) is an American railway company in North Carolina. The company is owned by Robert Menzies and has its headquarters in Aberdeen (North Carolina).

The company operates the 55 km long railway line between Aberdeen (North Carolina) and Star (North Carolina), as well as leased by the Norfolk Southern 167 km long route Charlotte -Star Gulf. In Aberdeen, there is a transition to the network of CSX Transportation in Charlotte and Gulf to Norfolk Southern and Norwood in the Winston- Salem Southbound Railroad.

The company was founded in 1987 and took over on June 19, 1987 by the Aberdeen and Briar Patch the former Norfolk Southern Railway 's line between Aberdeen and Star. On 1 May 1989, the route between Charlotte and Gulf of the Norfolk Southern under the " Thoroughbred Program" was leased.

Most important transport goods are corn, wood products and building materials.
