Abhayamudra

In the Hindu context is Abhayamudra, ie the gesture of confidence and security, a hand gesture, which wards off fear and be granted the worshiper divine protection and happiness can be. In this pose the right hand is held upright and the palm facing forward. This is one of the earliest Mudras that have been found on a number of Hindu, Buddhist and Jain images.
