Abhijeet Gupta

Abhijeet Gupta ( born October 16, 1989 in Bhilwara ) is an Indian chess master. He currently has an Elo rating of 2594 (as of November 2013). The highest of his career was in 2667 in October 2012. Gupta was thus at the 83rd place in the FIDE world ranking list.

In 2002, he won the national Under-19 Championship at age 13. Since 2005 he is an International Master and Grandmaster since 2008. In 2008 he was in Gaziantep junior world champion ahead of his compatriot Pari Negi and Arik Braun. In the same year he won an Open in New Delhi. In the World Chess Cup 2011 in Khanty-Mansiysk, he sat down in the first round against Rauf by Məmmədov, in the second against Samuel Shankland, but failed in the third round at Bu Xiangzhi.
