Abibon

Abibas (also: Abibon ) ( † 1st century ) is considered as the second son of the Jewish patriarch Gamaliel I.; it should be converted to Christianity. His historical existence is doubtful.

The bones of the Abibas to have been discovered under the Emperor Honorius, together with those of St. Stephen and those of Nicodemus. Abibas is venerated as a saint. His feast day in the Catholic Church August 3, in the Orthodox Church August 2. The Orthodox Memorial Day goes back to the fact that Abibas bones are said to have been transferred to Jerusalem on August 2, 415.
