Abid Hamid Mahmud

Abid Hamid Mahmud at- Tikriti ( † 7 June 2012) (Arabic: عبد حميد محمود التكريتي, DMG ʿ Abid Hamid Mahmud at- Tikriti ), a distant cousin of Saddam Hussein and his closest confidant, was in his capacity as private secretary to the dictator as the fourth most powerful man in Iraq Saddam Hussein. He was sheikh of the Albu Nasir and two tribes Albu Khattab. Abid controlled access to Saddam Hussein and the activities of various secret services.

On 16 June 2003 Abid Hamid Mahmud at- Tikriti was captured by U.S. troops. On 7 June 2012, he was executed in the 1980s for genocide in connection with the repression of the Iraqi Shiites.
