Abigail Fillmore

Abigail Powers Fillmore ( born March 13, 1798 in Stillwater, Saratoga County, New York, † March 30, 1853 in Washington, DC) was the wife of U.S. President Millard Fillmore and the First Lady of the United States of America 1850-1853.

Her father Lemuel Powers died shortly after her birth. She met Millard Fillmore for the first time when she was 21. Their only son, Millard Powers Fillmore was born in 1828. In Buffalo, the daughter, Mary Abigail was born in 1832.

1849, she moved as a wife of a Vice President to Washington; 16 months later, the family moved into the White House.
