Abkhazian parliamentary election, 2007

The parliamentary elections in Abkhazia in 2007 took place in March of this year.

The election of deputies of the National Assembly of the Republic of Abkhazia was carried out according to the principle of majority voting. A total of 108 candidates competed. In the first round of voting on 4 March 2007 were chosen 18 out of 35 deputies. In the 17 other constituencies, a second ballot was necessary because no candidate had obtained an absolute majority. The turnout was 48% in the first round, the second round 43%.

26 MPs belong to the ethnic group of the Abkhazians to three MPs are Russians, two Armenians, Georgians and two deputy is a Turk.
