Ablaincourt-Pressoir

Ablaincourt - Pressoir ( Picard: Ablaincourt Pressor ) is a northern French village with 269 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the department of Somme in the Picardie region. The municipality belongs to the canton Chaulnes and is part of the Communauté de communes de Haute Picardie.

Geography

Which emerged from the merger of the two communities Ablaincourt and Pressoir in 1966 commune is located about three kilometers north of Chaulnes in the Santerre. In the municipality, the Autoroute A29 Autoroute A1 intersect. In a north-south direction, the municipality is crossed by the high-speed rail route of the LGV Nord, the TGV Haute -Picardie train station, the so-called " sugar - station ", located just outside the community area, mainly in the field of the neighboring municipality of Estrées- Deniécourt. In the south of the municipality extends to the municipality of Chaulnes. On the western edge of the community is a wind park ( parc éolien ). The former hamlet Bovent no longer exists.

History

Ablaincourt was first mentioned in 1044 under the name Habelinicurt. 1215 had Jean I de Nesle here a solid lock. 1648 joined the family de Blattepière the estate from the family of Mathieu.

In World War Ablaincourt and Pressoir were completely destroyed in the Battle of the Somme.

The communities received the Croix de guerre as a distinction from 1914 to 1918.
