Abolhassan Etessami

Abolhassan Etessami (* 1903, † 1978) was an Iranian architect, calligrapher, painter and writer. His father Ebrahim Etessami worked as the director of finance of the Iranian province of Azerbaijan, his brother Yussef Etessami founded the magazine Bahar and is the father of the poetess Parvin Etessami.

Etessami received his education in Tehran at the Aghdasieh School, the American School and at the Kamal -ol - Molk University of the Arts. He then spent several years in Isfahan to study architecture and decorative techniques. Later Abolhassan Etessami taught at the University of Tehran.

He dealt with a number of architectural projects. He presented detailed maquettes her own. At the request of the Iranian Ministry of Fine Arts, the maquettes were sent to Brussels for the World Expo in 1958. Abolhassan Etessami received the gold medal in the category ' solo exhibition '. The maquettes were acquired later by the Iranian National Museum. They are part of the permanent collection of the Department of Islamic Art.
