Abortion-rights movements

Pro- Choice (English " for the option " ) is a native of the U.S. political term for the view that a pregnant woman can freely and legally opt for an abortion should. The opposite view is called pro-life.

In the Oxford English Dictionary, the term pro-choice appears only since 1975, at a time in which the question of the legality of abortion was discussed in an enhanced form. This went to the judgment of 1973 of the U.S. Supreme Court in the case of Roe vs.. Wade back. In this case, the Supreme Court ruled that during the first and second trimester of pregnancy, ie until the viability of the child outside of the woman, the woman's body has the right to decide for an abortion, but that a state may prohibit abortion during the third trimester except when the woman's life or health would be at risk.
