Abraham Iyambo

Abraham Iyambo ( born February 2, 1961 in Oniimwandi, South West Africa, now Namibia, † February 2nd 2013 in London, United Kingdom) was a Namibian politician. As a member of SWAPO, he was represented in Parliament since 1995.

He studied 1982-1985 in Havana, Cuba. 1985 moved Iyambo for further studies in the field of nutritional science to London. He studied first at South London College, rather he received a degree in 1990 from the University of Surrey. Between 1991 and 1994 he studied until receipt of the doctorate (PhD). From 1995 to 1997 Iyambo was Vice - Minister of Fisheries, before he was promoted to the Namibian Minister of Fisheries. He had held until 2010 when he became a minister in the Ministry of Education this office.

Iyambo died after a long illness, yet surprisingly on 4 February 2013 in an official visit to London. He leaves behind two daughters.
