Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum

The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library in Springfield (Illinois ) is a presidential library, which has emerged from the Illinois State Historical Library, founded in 1889. It is operated by the Illinois Historic Preservation Agency, is the U.S. state of Illinois. The new facilities were opened on 16 April 2005.

In addition to the materials to President Abraham Lincoln, the library contains more than twelve million documents, books and articles on the history of Illinois, including the national collections on the history of Illinois ', the American Civil War and the Henry Horner Lincoln Collection. The library is heavily used for genealogical research. In the museum part of the library individual sections of the White House at the time of Lincoln's have been recreated.

. Parts of the set, costumes and props from Steven Spielberg's award-winning film Lincoln ( 2012) in the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum will be on display from the beginning of 2014.
