Abraham Niclas Edelcrantz

Abraham Niclas Edelcrantz (* July 28, 1754 in Turku, † March 15, 1821 in Stockholm ) was a Finnish- Swedish writer and scientist.

Life

He was librarian at the Academy at Turku. In 1783 he went to Stockholm, where he headed the Royal Theatre and later became the King's private secretary. The he developed optical telegraph was twice as fast as the French telegraph.

He was a member of the Swedish Academy.
