Abu al-Makarim

Abū l - Makarim (Arabic أبو المكاريم, also al - Makarim, * before 1160; † after 1190 ) was a Copt and writer.

He wrote in Cairo in Arabic a " history of the churches and monasteries of Egypt ," in which he to every church and every monastery of Egypt (including Nubia ) all available messages together represents, on the one hand from older writings, on the other hand, from personal knowledge or from hearsay. An appendix, perhaps from another spring, Asia and Europe treated. The " history" of Abū l - Makarim was formerly attributed to the Armenians Abu Saalih.
