Abu-Bakr Khairat

Abu -Bakr Khairat Mahmoud ( born April 10, 1910 in Cairo, † October 25, 1963 ) was an Egyptian composer.

Khairat studied architecture and received in Cairo and Paris, a musical education. After he had lived many years in Paris, he founded the Academy of Music in Cairo, he was its first chairman. He composed three symphonies, an orchestral suite, two overtures, two piano concertos, chamber music and a cantata.

Abu -Bakr Khairat is the uncle of composer Omar Khairat.
