Abul Wafa (crater)

54.18

Abul Wafa is an impact crater near the lunar equator on the back side of the Moon. It is located between the craters King in the North East and Vesalius in the southwest. Just east is the crater pair Ctesibius and Heron.

The limitation of the crater is vaguely reminiscent of a rounded diamond. Crater rim and interior walls are eroded by impacts and show projections and ledges that might once have been terraces or piled screes.

A small but clearly recognizable crater lies on the northern edge of the crater floor, and another small crater is located on the southwest outer wall. The exterior walls are otherwise relatively free from damage by impacts and the crater floor is marked only by a few mini craters.
