Abuyog, Leyte

Abuyog is a Philippine municipality in the province of Leyte on Leyte Island. It has 57 146 inhabitants ( census of 1 May 2010 ) living in 63 barangays. The community is described as partly urban. Abuyog is located about 62 km south of the provincial capital of Tacloban City and from there via the along the coast extending Maharlika Highway within 35 minutes by bus. Parts of the Kuapnit Balinsasayaw National Park situated on the territory of the municipality.
