ABX Air

ABX Air is an American cargo airline based in Clinton County in Wilmington, Ohio and home base on the local Airborne Airpark.

History

The company launched on 17 April 1980 its first flight, then still under the predecessor company Airborne Express. The parent company of ABX Air, the Air Transport Services Group, also includes the cargo airlines Air Transport International and Capital Cargo International Airlines. March 2003 the Airborne Express, DHL bought what this led to the partition: The Airborne Express Ground Operations, which was incorporated into DHL, as well as the now independent ABX Air, whose fleet then consisted of several Douglas DC-8 and Boeing 767-200. By 2008, all DC-8 were retired and replaced by Boeing 767.

Destinations

ABX Air operates scheduled freight flights and ad hoc charter and ACMI freight services within the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico. In addition, the freighters will be leased to other companies and airlines, a major customer, for example, DHL.

Fleet

As of October 2013, the fleet of the ABX Air consists of 33 aircraft:

  • 28 Boeing 767 -200F (13 operated for DHL Aviation )
  • 07 Boeing 767 - 300ERF (2 operated for DHL Aviation, a decommissioned)
