Abyss (Wrestler)

Christopher J. " Chris " Parks ( born October 4, 1973 in Washington, DC ) is an American professional wrestler and former professional football player the NFL. He is currently in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling under the name Abyss and Mr. Joseph Park, Esq. active.

Career

Background in sports / beginnings

Prior to his wrestling career Chris Parks was football player. In March 1993 he played in the NFL for the Pittsburgh Steelers. After he was trained by Roger Ruffin to wrestlers.

His wrestling career began parks with 22 years in the Northern Wrestling Federation ( NWF ). 2002 then came to the park NWA Wildside, where he was allowed to keep the local heavyweight title. There, he formed a team with AJ Styles. On 17 May 2003, he was allowed in the I.W.A. Puerto Rico win the IWA World Tag Team Titles.

Total Nonstop Action Wrestling

Since June 2003, the park has been working as " The Monster " Abyss in TNA. Though there with AJ Styles feuded he could get with Styles 2004, the NWA World Tag Team Championship.

After a few feuds parks could defeat in November 2007 and Sting won the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. In January 2008, he had to lose the title to Christian Cage.

After some feud programs he was for a time as the " Creative TNA Committee " operates. But this, he performed not last long. Already on June 8, he returned at the PPV " Slammiversary " in the current happenings ring back.

From October 2010 to October 2011 he was part of the Immortal stable, which had its model in the new World order of the former WCW and the loud storyline tried to take control of TNA. Parks was allowed at Genesis on January 9, 2011, TNA Television Championship win this but lost by an injury on March 14.

On 16 May 2011 the park was the first time the TNA X Division Championship. The title loss followed on July 10, 2011 by Destination X to Brian Kendrick.

From March 2012, Parks took no more than Abyss, but as his brother, the lawyer, Mr. Joseph Park, Esq. on first and feuded against Bully Ray and then against the grouping Aces & Eights.

In the Impact Wrestling edition of May 9, 2013 Parks returned as Abyss to feud among other things on the side of Sting and Kurt Angle against the Aces and Eights. Since then, occurs in both parks on gimmicks. After Parks was unable to compete as Joseph Park at Slammiversary XI to the TNA Television Championship against Devon, Abyss took his place and won the title for the second time.
