AC Horsens

The Alliance Club Horsens is a Danish football club from the city of Horsens, Midtjylland region.

History

AC Horsens went in 1994 from a merger of the clubs Horsens fS and FC Horsens forth. Background of this merger were targeted promotion and training of young players from the region as well as the improvement of the economic and sporting opportunities.

In the past, teams from Horsens were hardly in evidence. The HfS played from 1927 to 1932 and from 1967 to 1970 in the top division. The best finish was a third place in 1967.

Sporting successes

After the ACH had failed to qualify for the SAS Ligaen in the year of its foundation, he played one year in the first division, from which he was relegated after two relegation matches on away goals. In 1997, the re- promotion to the first division.

In the season 2004/ 05, the ACH secured in the penultimate round early promotion to the SAS League. In the 2008 /09 season Horsens finished 12th and last place and got down to the 1st Division. But only a year later, we went straight back, as the leader in the SAS league in which the AC Horsens finished 4th in the 2011/12 season. Thus, the club was able to participate in the following season in qualifying for the UEFA Europa League. After a 11th place in the 2012/13 season of ACH was relegated to the 1st Division again.
