AC Marinhense

The AC Marinhense ( officially: Atlético Clube Marinhense ) is a sports club from the central Portuguese district town of Marinha Grande. Besides football, it has departments for athletics and rugby.

History

The club was founded on 1 January 1923. Between 1934/35 and 1937/38, the club played three years in the league II. Since 1945/46, the Association of III Divisão (27 seasons) and II B commutes between the II Divisão (25 Seasons ), (9 seasons). The best result in their history reached the club in the 1970/71 season, when he finished in the northern group of the II Divisão the season at No. 2. In the season 1964/65 Marinhense won the Taça de Portugal Sporting Lisbon 2-1. Since the descent 2010, the club plays in the III Divisão.

Stadium

Play their home games of the AC Marinhense the Estádio Municipal da Marinha Grande. It has a capacity of 6,000 spectators.
